We drove 60 miles to try this restaurant based on reviews on another site. We had a delicious lunch. There was no crowd during the week and the service was excellent! This restaurant was on the historic Route 66, but has been modernized inside. The sign out front seems to be the original.

I went to the Golden Spur for lunch. The Golden Spur has the look of the West. It included a real saddle, a wooden carved bench. When you step inside, the atmosphere during lunch was nice and quiet. The inside had little lights which would make you look like you are outside looking at the stars.The hostess was nice. The booth was very roomy. The waitress was very pleasant. She came with our drinks and took our order.I had their Rueben and my honey had their Spur burger. The price is about the same if you were going to another family restaurant.The burger was cooked to your liking. The rueben was good. I had their sweet potatoe fries.We had a nice time. We will come back again to try their dinner.I was told the owner who owns the Golden Spurs also is the owner of the Mexican restaurant Sergio which is a couple of blocks from the Golden Spur.Next time, it will be a dinner. The dinner menu looks pretty good so I will try it next time.

Great food and great wait staff, however; it is expensive.If you go, be prepared to spend some money. The food is great and definitely worth its money.

SERVICE is HORRIBLE, the HOSTESS was EXTREMELY RUDE, THE FOOD was MEDIOCRE, drinks were not bad, not great but not bad. Definitely will not be going back there again!!! They were WAY UNDERSTAFFED, The manager did work his but off trying to pick up some of the slack BUT too little, to late.

Went for the Mother's day brunch and the food was ok, but nothing was labled and some were missing serving utensils. The part that was really upsetting was the fact that the salsa was not labled as hot. If I would have feed this to one of my kids, they would have been screaming! The service was really poor due to them being short staffed.

Chicken Piccata was tender and tasty .Their prime rib was perfectly cooked. The best I've had in years. If you haven't been here lately, I encourage anyone to come back. Experience the Spur the way it used to be when it was good food!

Booth seats... Ripped. Clam chowder... Cold. Baked potato... Cold. Sirloin steak... Very good! Augratin potatoes ... Pretty darn good . Salmon... Just okay . Service... Decent. Prices... insane!! Would I go back again? If someone's treating - I'll be eating! Otherwise probably not.

I give Golden Spur a five star for a particular reason. They have absolutely the best scallops I've ever had! Tender, juicy, and huge! A real treat for your taste buds. They do have karaoke...which I love so it doesn't bother me...but be warned it is possible to hear a horrendous version of Take On Me wafting across your dinner from the bar. Trust me though...the scallops are well worth listening to someone who THINKS they can sing!

I happened to be passing through Glendora around lunchtime and had been wanting to check out The Golden Spur, which has been around since 1918!!! I loved the retro feel from the sign to the lights inside. I ordered the Reuben, which was pretty good, but I got the sense that it’s really the dinner that this place is known for... and not just that but I’ve read folks raving about their early bird specials. I’m glad I got to see it though. There was only one server there at the time, and while he was friendly enough, he wasn’t too informative. I like it when the staff at historic places like this take pride in how old the place is, and if I hadn’t known going in, I would have missed out on that fact. Check it out though!

This establishment is clearly dated and seems to cater to an older crowd, from the decor to the food to the overall vibe. I tried ordering what seemed to be the healthiest dish I could find (penne with broccoli) but even that came swimming in butter! I'm not kidding. There was a pool of butter at the bottom.One person in my party couldn't even eat their meal because it was so unappetizing (swordfish for $32), which brings up my next point; the prices are definitely too high for the quality you get! Very disappointing meal, and I would not recommend. Unless they modernize their menu and offer healthier options, I will not be returning

Delicious food - we had salmon and the swordfish. Great service and wines. The owner makes the special cheesecake which was the best we have ever had! Prices were very good for the classy ambience, great food and very entertaining karaoke. We decided to stay on and enjoyed the KJ, Chuck Brock.

The manager was a wonderful guy. The food is sometimes great and sometimes iffy same with the staff our waitress kept ignoring us but the manager apologized and took care of the bill will come back.
